The work is motivated by the failure of language to faithfully represent how separation and loss are experienced. Illness, eviction and homelessness are tragic events, the experiences of which are inadequately described by words. The furniture used for some of this work was selected for its spare anonymity and inconsequentiality. Disruption of normalcy is in the chaotic suspension of resin chairs, the sliced dresser with spilled contents and the cut up dining room.
